As part of the Lloyds Banking Group 2012 SME Charter, Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking is committed to running a programme of over 200 nationwide business events to provide guidance and support for SMEs, including specialist seminars for the healthcare, education and manufacturing sectors.

In 2012, a number of events* will cover the following topics:

Access to finance.

This session, hosted by finance experts from across Lloyds Banking Group, will share guidance on managing your finances to help you take advantage of new opportunities.

We'll cover:

  • Economic update - A presentation from a member of Chief Economist's office will give their view on the UK economy and how this affects SMEs. A local economic update will follow.
  • Cashflow management - Covering the steps you could take to boost your cashflow when dealing with your customers, suppliers and stakeholders, plus ways to avoid common cashflow problems.
  • Financing options - helping you choose the right type of finance at the right time for your business.
    • Invoice Discounting - Regain control of your sales ledger by raising funding from your unpaid invoices.
    • Asset Finance - Funding the purchase of assets, such as premises or business equipment.
    • Debtor Protection - Helping you to manage bad debt.

Our employment workshops will be run by Peninsula Business Services - specialists in employment law and health & safety. Peninsula has been advising and protecting owners, directors and senior managers from businesses like yours for over 28 years. Their experts will guide you through:

Sustainability.

This session, hosted by sustainability specialists from Lloyds Banking Group will help you to make tangible links between being a more sustainable business and your business performance and profitability. Sustainable businesses benefit from significant cost efficiencies, staff loyalty and powerful new business opportunities and we can help you to review your business in terms of the potential risks, issues and opportunities presented by the sustainability agenda.

During the session you will be able to:

  • Check how resource efficient your business is and how your bottom line could be affected by making small changes within your business.
  • Consider emerging legislation around climate change and sustainability in your industry and how you can take advantage of new opportunities.
  • Look at how you might prepare for contract renewals that require you to confirm your sustainability credentials.
  • Find out how to identify networks in your area to learn more about what local businesses are doing to improve sustainability.
